124 T5 Negative Emotion – Taken for Granted

Taken for Granted

Always expected to be available to serve in some way, without thanks or recognition; to be valued too lightly.

Practical Tips

  1. Know that it is your responsibility to free yourself from Being Taken for Granted.
  2. Express how you feel (use Shelley’s Script), have the vision of how you WANT to be treated in its place.
  3. Stop doing the expected and see what happens.

Beliefs and Affirmations

When I inspect the Values of others, I can understand why I am being taken for granted  and respond accordingly.

(How to make it very HARD to feel the negative emotion)

The only time I will allow myself to feel…………..as if I am being Taken For Granted, is when I don’t appreciate the important part I play in my children’s lives.

Example Challenges

I’m tired, I seem to do everything around the house. We need to share the work load. (DC040)

People who think that because I’m a woman, I will make tea, wash up and hoover. (DC055)

DC110 I seem to do everything for everybody else and nothing for myself.
