124 F16 Negative Emotion – Fear of Being Alone

Fear of Being Alone

‘Monophobia’ is an acute fear of being alone and having to cope without a specific person, or perhaps any person, in close proximity.

Practical Tips

Having a ‘Fear of Being Alone’ can keep us in a Relationship for the WRONG reason!

  1. Make a list and focus on the benefits/positives of being alone, there will be many!!
  2. Appreciate that when we are on our own, ALL the resources we need to survive and live a fruitful life are around us.
  3. Life adapts to the situation you are in; people, opportunities, resources appear when they are needed.
  4. Trust and BELIEVE in yourself.

Beliefs and Affirmations

Even though life will be different when I am on my own; I trust and have faith in myself to be able to thrive in my new situation

You cannot be lonely if you like the person you’re alone with. I like me 😉

(How to make it very HARD to feel the negative emotion)

The only time I will have a ……………Fear of Being Alone, is when I haven’t thought it through properly.

“Language… has created the word ‘loneliness’ to express the pain of being alone. And it has created the word ‘solitude’ to express the glory of being alone.”
