124 D25 Negative Emotion – Distant

(of a person) not intimate; cool or reserved.

Practical Tips

  1. Accept that everyone needs a bit of space now and again.
  2. Ask yourself if something is missing, hence the space?
  3. When others are emotionally removed from you, remember sometimes it’s about them, not you.
  4. Work out what needs to happen to get closer, if that’s what you want.

Beliefs and Affirmations

I am able to accept and deal with feeling Distant, by appreciating that people need space now and again.

(How to make it very HARD to feel the negative emotion)

The only time I will allow myself to feel….Distant, is when I know at a conscious level it’s the right place to be.

Example Challenges

DC095 I haven’t received a Valentines Card from my Husband/Wife/Partner/Loved One and I feel our relationship is dwindling.

DC097 I’m feeling distant from my Partner, as the financial situation is really bad and I don’t know what to do.

DC109 We never go out together, just the two of us, there is always someone else with us.

DC159 I haven’t seen my Parents for years (I fell out with them) and just recently have had the inkling I need to see them.

DC162 My partner still has his 32 year old daughter under his wing financially and emotionally. It’s blocking our relationship. What can I do?
